Award-winning journalist Charles Kuralt became a household name for his On the Road segments, first airing on the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite, and then for his stint as the first host of CBS News Sunday Morning. Beginning in 1967, Kuralt and his small CBS television crew traversed America’s byways by motor home in search of the unusual and overlooked stories of ordinary people from the nation’s back roads. The resulting segments provide a quirky and uplifting snapshot of everyday life worthy of celebration.
