Silver Spring, MD — Offering four contemporary, stand-alone mysteries from the top-selling British mystery franchise, Midsomer Murders, Set 14 debuts on DVD from Acorn Media on February 23, 2010 (DVD 4-Vol., $49.99, www.AcornOnline.com). The feature-length mysteries in Set 14 have not aired in the U.S. and are available to U.S. audiences for the first time with their DVD release. Continually reaching new heights of popularity, Midsomer Murders counts Johnny Depp and even the Queen among its ardent fans.

Inspired by the novels of Caroline Graham, modern master of the English village mystery, Midsomer Murders combines quirky characters and surprising mysteries with postcard-perfect English village settings and the ever-charming John Nettles (Bergerac) as the steady, unfailingly decent Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby. Jason Hughes (This Life) also stars as his earnest, efficient protégé, Detective Sergeant Ben Jones. Guest stars include British Comedy Award Winner Stephanie Cole (Doc Martin), Chris Barrie (Red Dwarf), and Olivier Award Winner Clare Higgins.

The Mysteries:
Death and Dust— The impending marriage of a widowed doctor and a well-to-do divorcée motivates a murder of mistaken identity.
Picture of Innocence— In the midst of a “shooting war” between rival camera clubs, someone tries to frame Barnaby—and definitely not for a portrait.
They Seek Him Here— Heads roll, quite literally, when a movie crew begins filming an adventure classic set during the French Revolution.
Death in a Chocolate Box— A long-buried scandal reemerges to haunt two of Barnaby’s former colleagues, now the managers of a halfway house.

Midsomer Murders premiered in the United Kingdom in March 1997. Since then, more than seventy feature-length episodes have aired with new episodes still in production. In the U.S., the series has been seen on A&E and The Biography Channel, however the episodes in Set 14 consist of the second half of Series Ten (2007-2008), which never broadcast in the U.S.
