Four Contemporary, Stand-Alone British Mysteries from the Hit Series
SILVER SPRING, MD; January 29, 2008 —Acorn Media announces the March 25, 2008 DVD debut of Midsomer Murders, Set 10, offering four contemporary, stand-alone mysteries from the ongoing, top-selling British mystery franchise.
The cozy villages of Midsomer County reveal their most sinister secrets in these feature-length mysteries. Inspired by the novels of Caroline Graham, modern master of the English village mystery, the series stars John Nettles (Bergerac) as top cop Tom Barnaby, a likable, hardworking family man and astute detective. Barnaby and his brash young assistant Sergeant Scott (John Hopkins, Love in a Cold Climate) toil in a cluster of picturesque villages filled with eccentric characters and baffling crimes.
Midsomer Murders first aired in the United Kingdom in March 1997. Since then, nearly sixty feature-length episodes have aired with new episodes still in production. In the U.S., the series has been seen on A&E and The Biography Channel. The series was originally adapted by acclaimed writer Anthony Horowitz (Foyle’s War, Poirot, Robin of Sherwood).
Feature-length mysteries in Set Ten include: Second Sight, Hidden Depths, Sauce for the Goose, and Midsomer Rhapsody
Guest stars include: Oliver Ford Davies, Annette Crosbie, Owen Teale, June Whitfield, Geoffrey Whitehead, and David Burke.
