While the world’s at war, one man fights his own battle on the home front
SILVER SPRING, MD; May 21, 2007 —Acorn Media announces the July 17, 2007 home video debut of Foyle’s War, Set 4, starring Michael Kitchen (Proof of Life, Reckless, Out of Africa) in four all-new feature-length episodes of the popular series that combines mystery and real history. The DVD release coincides with the debut of the new mysteries on PBS starting in late June 2007.
Set in an English coastal village at the height of World War II, this award-winning PBS viewer favorite adapts the whodunit to explore everyday life in war-torn Britain. Police Inspector Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen) investigates crimes arising from homegrown violence and opportunism spawned by the war. Each episode incorporates historically accurate but often overlooked issues, such as endemic gambling, bootleg alcohol, women in the workforce, and experiments in biological warfare. Guest stars in Set 4 include Kenneth Colley, Michael Jayston, and Roy Marsden.
